How I found it was genuinely pretty stupid — I never could get my head round what an ew payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator is the one I open most — type in your stake, the odds and it shows the return straight away, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s over at odds format converter — free, no signup.

What genuinely made a difference was the geekier extras. The implied probability calculator that shows the overround, and there’s the kelly tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutch tool is handy too if I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. The layout is pretty plain — not much polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it works although the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. And no app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but worth saying.

Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. Anyone who still does the maths on paper, have a look — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
