Ingredients
- 500 gms Fish steaks (kingfish, seer, pomfret,barramundi,trout, cod )
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
- Red Chilli powder
- 1/2 Tsp freshly grounded Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala powder
- 1 Tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1.5 Tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
- A handful of Curry leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Clean fish and pat it dry with kitchen towel.
- In a bowl mix all the spices, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, oil to make a thick paste. You may add 1 or 2-3 tbsp of water to the paste.
- Rub the marinade generously on the fish, covering all the sides.
- Let the marinated fish rest for about 30 mins. You may refrigerate it for 1-2 hours as well.
- Transfer the marinated fish to the air fryer basket. I had lined the basket with some aluminium foil to avoid any spills and for easy cleaning.
- Air fry at 180° C for about 7-8 mins before flipping the fish steaks and cooking them for a further 5-6 mins or until the masalas are cooked and the fish is crisp and lightly charred at the sides.
- After flipping, once the fish cooks for a couple of minutes, add a handful of curry leaves brushed with very little oil to the basket of the air fryer.
- Serve hot sprinkled with chaat masala, onion rings and lemon wedges of you like.
